Inorganic Chemistry
GTP has been working with inorganic materials, including refractory metals and phosphors for nearly a century. Beginning with basic raw materials such as tungsten ore, secondary raw materials (tungsten scrap), molybdenum oxide and rare earth oxides, GTP manufactures Ammonium Metatungstate (AMT), Ammonium Paratungstate (APT) and inorganic phosphors. We have pioneered numerous processes for manufacturing and refining these materials into very pure chemicals and phosphors.
Ammonium Paratungstate (APT): Our APT is produced by evaporating purified ammonium tungstate solution into pure paratungstate crystals. We use the APT we produce to manufacture numerous tungsten products including oxide, ready to press grade powders and thermal spray powders to name a few.
Ammonium Metatungstate (AMT): AMT is a tungsten chemical in the form of highly soluble hydrated crystals. Global Tungsten and Powders AMT is used in the medical, catalyst and semiconductor industries.
Rare Earth Oxides: Rare earth oxides are a critical component to phosphors used in the lighting, medical and display industries. GTP has been optimizing the levels of rare earths in these phosphors continually reducing the required amounts of rare earth activators to offer the highest performance phosphors while reducing costs. Additionally, GTP is developing a recycling program that can capture the rare earth materials in used lamps.
If you would like more information on any of these materials, please see the technical information bulletins in the products section of our web site.
