Plating and Coating

Wear protection and extended life are desirable traits in most applications and products.  GTP has developed coating and plating technology that can provide both these qualities, improving the key characteristics of several different materials.

 

Coating Technology: GTP developed coating processes for our phosphors, including UV and EL phosphors, that offer a number of benefits to your final products including longer life and higher brightness.  Our coating process can be adapted to similar powders to improve product performance.  If you have a phosphor or similar powder that would benefit from our coatings, please contact us!

 

Plating: GTP has been plating tungsten and molybdenum wire for the electronics and aerospace industry for more than 60 years.  Plating wire enhances the performance of the base metal by providing protection from oxidation and improved wettability for soldering operations.  Electrical conductivity of the wire can also be improved by plating.

 

Thermal Spray: In addition to phosphor coating and wire plating, GTP offers a comprehensive range of thermal spray powders that can improve the wear resistance and protect your products from corrosion.  Our thermal spray powders can also be used to repair surface damage to some products offering a less expensive alternative to replacement.
