Recycling
In today's world, green is turning out to be the new gold. This means that sustainability and environmental impact are becoming more important in day to day operations of all types of businesses.
Recycling has been a part of GTP's tungsten production process for nearly 40 years. We process various types of secondary raw materials (tungsten scrap) including mill media, mining tips, and wear parts, just to name a few. We can also process grinding sludge (soft scrap) through our own roaster. Our recycling process reclaims a very valuable resource in tungsten and also offers us a stream of cobalt and tantalum that we can offer back into the hard materials market.
In addition to our tungsten recycling program, we are exploring the potential to recycle used fluorescent lamps. Fluorescent lamps use rare earth materials that are critical to a number of green technologies including wind turbines, batteries for electric vehicles and high efficiency lighting as well as many others. It is our plan to use these reclaimed rare earth materials in our own processes and where available offer rare earth oxides for sale.
