Intermediate Materials
Through our recycling process, GTP is able to reclaim and produce intermediate materials such as Tantalum and Cobalt. Breaking hard material scrap and grinding sludge into it's main components, GTP is able to provide tungsten powders, tantalum carbide and cobalt powders. GTP also offers tantalum niobium carbide and niobim carbide. We can toll convert your secondary raw material into Co, TaNbC, or TaC for you or, based on availability of scrap, provide these end products ourselves.
GTP TaNbC, TaC, NbC and Cobalt are important components in cemented carbides for metalcutting applications, typically used in inserts. The tantalum materials provide the insert numerous advantages including, greater chemical stability, increased high temperature deformation resistance and control over grain growth. Cobalt is used as a binder in cemented carbide inserts.
