GTP invests in expansion at Tikomet production site

With the extension to the current plant, GTP Tikomet is prepared for future growth.

On June 18th 2018 the members of the supervisory board of GTP, the Tikomet management and employees attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the production plant extension in Jyväskylä, Finland.

In his speech Hermann Walser, Chief Executive Officer of the GTP group, emphasized how important Tikomet's tungsten carbide zinc reclaimed powders are for the tungsten portfolio of the GTP group. Recycled materials are changing their image and today are a highly requested alternative to virgin material. Together with the chemical recycling capabilities in the APT plant in Towanda, the GTP group has a recycling ratio of almost two thirds. Tikomet doesn’t only increase GTP's green footprint, it also helps to be less dependent on the unreliable Western virgin raw material resources.

Additionally, Hermann Walser mentioned the advantages for both, GTP and Tikomet:

"With Tikomet being part of an international Group, having the full product portfolio of virgin and recycled materials for the hard metals industry, Tikomet jumped from one to the next sales and production record since it is part of the GTP group. To continue with further growth in the future it is necessary to expand the production capacities. The new building extension here is a prerequisite for that."

All the best for the future to Tikomet: "Kaikkea hyvää tulevaisuudessa."

The production extension provides 600 square meters (approx. 6450 square feet) production space.
