Engineering, R&D, Materials Analysis

In 1916, Carl Patterson founded the Towanda Phosphor Works, it was then that GTP became an engineering company.  Although we have exited some businesses, we have entered new ones carrying on our tradition of engineering excellence.  It is through this constant evolution that GTP has maintained it's position as a global leader in a number of markets.

Engineering:  GTP realizes that engineering expertise is what allows us to maintain our edge.  GTP is staffed with over 50 full time engineers and technicians tasked with guiding our production processes and maintaining product quality.  Our engineering staff is constantly looking for new ways to increase productivity, improve products and develop new ways to exceed customers quality expectations.

Research and Development: GTP has an on-site R&D facility with more than 40 scientists and technical associates.  Our research group is committed to new product development, working with manufacturing to improve existing products and developing new manufacturing techniques that benefit GTP and our customers.  With hundreds of patents to their credit, our R&D staff continues to stretch the limits of luminescent phenomena and the chemistry of molybdenum and tungsten and their alloys.  For more information about our capabilites please contact our Director of Research & Development Dr. Juan Trasorras.

Materials Analysis: At our Towanda, PA manufacturing facility, GTP maintains a world class materials analysis laboratory.  Over 25 scientists and technicians armed with a broad range of analytical equipment and techniques can catalogue materials down to their basic elemental structure.  Our materials analysis facility is accredited in both ISO/IEC 17025 recognizing that GTP meets the requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories and operate in accordance with ISO9001-2000.  GTP analytical services are available to outside customers upon request.  Please contact our lab manager, Dr. Tuan Dang for additional information.
